A permanent site-specific public art commissioned by Oregon's Percent for Art in Public Places Program for University of Oregon’s Health and Counseling Center, Eugene, OR. The artwork contains three parts and locates three different sites throughout the building:
The artwork uses text as basic elements, however the final artwork goes beyond linear readable line of language to ambiguous art form. There are 26 different languages total, which all come from students and staffs who use the facility. The content of the text are about healing and well being. The artwork is formed by an open, lacy pattern of steel (in different colors) woven into text. The 1/8” X 1” hot roll flat stock steel is forged and torched into liquid form. The artwork is powder coated in three different colors for three different sites. The artwork is mostly made on site in order to modify particular architectural detail of the building.
